275: Call-In Show

Aug 16, 2017 - 00:59:05

Now for something completely different! First, we're incredibly thankful to have all you guys as listeners. You're what make doing this podcast worthwhile, so thank you guys! We're also really appreciative some of you have decided to support us on Patreon, as that's ultimately what's going to help us keep going with all this. Each month Karen and I do a special call-in show for all Patreon contributors. For this week's episode, we're publishing this month's call publicly for the first time ever. Hopefully you dig it even if you have no intention of contributing - it's geeky people talking about geeky stuff, like TWD, GoT, and some behind-the-scenes stuff, among other things. WARNING: There are some Game of Thrones spoilers partway through if you're not caught up - so you might want to skip past that part. You'll hear once we start talking about it. If you'd like to take part in next month's call-in, contribute any amount at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. Cheers!

271: John Carpenter's The Thing

Jul 16, 2017 - 01:17:23

First off, this episode was recorded before the passing of George Romero, and we both want to express our condolences to his family and friends and all the fans. Let's face it, Romero is the reason any of this is happening. TWD would not exist without him. We're so sad to hear of his passing, and we're thankful for his work.  We also want to give condolences to family, friends, and co-workers of Walking Dead stunt man John Bernecker who died in an accident on set last week. Our heart goes out to all you guys.  Now, The Thing. Neither Karen or Jason had seen this horror classic, and since so many of you excitedly suggested we cover it, we both hoped we'd like it. Listen in to find out if we did. If you appreciate what we do and want to help support us and keep all this going, please check out our Patreon page at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. Some awesome rewards at all levels! 261: Under the Skin

May 1, 2017 - 01:00:09

Minimal. Creepy. Seductive. Highly disturbing. But enough about my guest cohost this week, Harry Duran, let's talk about the movie we're covering, Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson :P It was all those things, and also, we thought, incredibly thought-provoking and well made—and it's crazy the movie used footage from hidden cameras filming Scarlett Johansson actually picking up men. Also, some TV news, and feedback from you guys! You can find dozens of down-to-earth, in-depth interviews with podcasters (including ones with me and Karen) by my guest Harry Duran over at podcastjunkies.com. This ep we read all your haiku and describe your photos from the Fracture contest, and reveal the winner (who gets a $100 Fracture gift certificate). Karen and I were seriously delighted and moved by those. Thank you to everyone who entered. Also, we talk about the film version of The Girl with All the Gifts, which you can rent on iTunes or Amazon if you want to watch it first. And we cover some news, and do our usual goofing around. CALL TO ACTION: Please help us get advertisers for the off-season by filling out this incredibly quick (like 10 seconds if you take your time) demographics survey: survey.libsyn.com/deadcast WIN A $100 FRACTURE GIFT CERTIFICATE: To enter, send a picture you'd like to Fracture, plus 1 to 3 haiku somehow related to the picture, to brains@podcastica.com by midnight on Friday, April 21. PATREON: As you might know, I'm giving myself a year to make it as a professional podcaster. 239: Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan)

Nov 3, 2016 - 00:44:15

Here's the Jeffrey Dean Morgan panel from Walker Stalker Con Atlanta last weekend. One of my favorite panels ever. JDM slips in and out of character, and quickly wins the crowd over. Let's see if he'll do the same for you :) We're also joined by Greg Nicotero, who directed the S7 premiere and gives a lot of great info on the thinking and logistics behind it. A big giant thank you to Walker Stalker head honcho James Frazier for letting us play this. Want to see some of these panels in person sometime? Check out walkerstalkercon.com! In the meantime, if you appreciate what Karen and I do and want to help support us and keep all this going, please check out our Patreon page at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. We added a $2 tier and put up a little 10-minute mini-podcast.

224: Top 5 Movie Objects We'd Want + Only Lovers Left Alive

Jul 2, 2016 - 01:58:37

If you could have any object from any movie or TV show and it would work just like it did in the movie, what would it be? Karen and I had a blast thinking and talking about this, and you guys had some great answers too. Also, an in-depth discussion about whether it's realistic how many bad guys have appeared in TWD – I bring up the open-world post-apocalyptic game Rust as a real-world (of sorts) case study. Plus, we review Jim Jarmusch's moody, funny indie vampire love story starring Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton. If you're in the mood for something twisted, beautifully made, creative, clever, poetic, violent, unpredictable, and extremely tragic, go check out the 2003 Korean (not the 2013 US remake) revenge-movie classic, Oldboy, and then come back and listen to me, my wife Jenny, and my friend Harry gush about it. If you have the constitution, I highly recommend checking out this movie! 187: Mike Carey (The Girl With All the Gifts)

Jul 30, 2015 - 01:24:38

For months now you’ve heard me go on and on about Mike Carey’s zombie novel, The Girl With All the Gifts. It’s one of my favorite books in any genre, and I’ve gotten messages of thanks from a lot of you smart people who took my advice and read it. The main course of today’s podcast, from 30:33 to 1:08:22, is an interview with Mike Carey, who also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming movie adaptation. Mike talks about:• How the idea for the novel came about.• What it was like being on set and working on the movie.• His thoughts on writing from a child’s perspective.• Director Colm McCarthy’s commitment to hiring a diverse cast for the movie.• His thoughts on the ending of the book.• How you can read an additional chapter of the book online.• A tease about his next book, Fellside, due out next April.• And much more! Mike is as well spoken as he is a terrific writer, and I know all you TGWATG fans will dig this. And if you haven’t read the book yet, we tried to keep things spoiler-light in the first several minutes of the interview. In the meantime, here’s our Amazon link: The Girl With All the Gifts Also in this episode, Karen gives her thoughts on the recent trailers for FTWD and TWD S6, plus news, and your terrific feedback! Please shop Amazon (walkingdeadcast.com/amazon) to support The Walking Dead 'Cast. It costs the same for you when you use that link, but we get a small kickback. Next join me, Melissa, and Duncan about a week before the FTWD premiere, around August 18, for a preview of that series!

173: Ross Marquand (Aaron)

Feb 27, 2015 - 00:27:12

I usually like to wait to approach WD newcomers for an interview, but Ross Marquand's character Aaron has been interesting right out of the gate, with lots to talk about. And Ross and I covered a lot of it in this episode. We talked about: His thoughts on the fan reaction to Aaron and Eric being gay. How it was to film the scene when Rick punched Aaron. Why Aaron resisted the apple sauce. His friendship with Jordan Woods-Robinson, who plays Eric. And a lot more. Let us know what you think! Don't get cold-cocked....

171: Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha)

Feb 20, 2015 - 00:25:28

A pleasure to talk with the talented Sonequa Martin-Green, who graciously took a few minutes away from her new baby boy for a thoughtful, engaging chat about all things Sasha. We talked about: What it's been like working on The Walking Dead while pregnant. How it was to confront Michonne in last week's episode. How she felt when Sasha became a council member at the prison. What she thinks about Sasha becoming similar to Andrea in the comic. And a lot more. Enjoy!

Feb 6, 2015 - 01:35:58

We're sneaking one in under the wire before next week's mid-season premiere! And after having a great talk at Walker Stalker Con with horror icon Robert Englund, how could we not? Then listen in as Mr. Englund goes in-depth about: Behind-the-scenes info on the making of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. How he developed Freddy’s movements. What he would’ve liked to see in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake. Under what circumstances he’d play Freddy again. What he’s been working on lately. A lot more! 163: "Crossed" (S5E7) + Emily Kinney (Beth)

Nov 25, 2014 - 01:43:10

I can't decide if it's more fun when Karen and I agree or disagree about an episode. This week we've got a lot of both as we talk about "Crossed." Also big thanks to Emily Kinney for joining me for an in-depth and longtime coming interview. We talk about her music, her thoughts on art, acting, and using emotion in your art and life, what it's like to smash a jar of lollipops against a man's head, and her thoughts on some of Beth's biggest moments over her time on TWD. All that plus news and some great feedback from you guys. If you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-3323 or email brains@walkingdeadcast.com. 162: Josh McDermitt (Eugene)

Nov 20, 2014 - 00:31:07

A little bonus episode for you—a great, in-depth interview with non-scientist Josh McDermitt. We talk about: An interesting new (to me anyway) fact about how the zombie sounds are made for the show. How he gets into character. More about how much Eugene had thought out his "cure" and the cause of the zombie breakout. What it was like to film the emotional scene where Eugene finally admits he's "NOT A SCIENTIST!" His resting bitch face. Whether Karen or I was right about whether Eugene saw that Abraham was about to off himself when they first met. And a bunch more. Thanks for all of you who have filled out our advertising survey at podsurvey.com/deadcast. And if you haven't had a chance to, we'd really appreciate it. It's quick and you'll be entered into a contest to win a $100 Amazon gift card. Cheers!

161: "Consumed" (S5E6) + Melissa Hutchison (Clementine)

Nov 18, 2014 - 01:33:16

Hope you guys like dogs, because as I'm editing I'm noticing there's one barking in the background through most of this episode. Grrr. In addition to him, we're happy to have a couple other special guests this week—our old friend Doug from episodes long past, and our very favorite voice actress Melissa Hutchison, aka Clementine of Telltale's The Walking Dead! Join the four of us as we get in depth about this weeks Daryl/Carol-centric episode, plus news, feedback, and an interview with said Ms. Hutchison. This week we'd very much appreciate it if you'd fill out a quick survey for us at podsurvey.com/deadcast. We're committed to only advertising products we actually use and like ourselves, and this will help us narrow things down even more to pick the sponsors you're most likely to actually be interested in. It takes five minutes or less and you'll automatically be entered in a drawing to win a $100 Amazon.com gift card. Thank you! If you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-3323 or email brains@walkingdeadcast.com. You can download and subscribe to us in iTunes at walkingdeadcast.com/itunes. We fill you in on that, plus some news and your feedback. And big thanks to Grace and Mr. Blahg for an especially meaty Comic Talk segment this week. So if you don't want to hear us talk about Game of Thrones, Godzilla, Spider-Man, and X-Men for half an hour, skip ahead to hear our thoughts on the George Romero  and Stephen King's classic campy horror anthology flick, Creepshow. Also, CONTEST! How would you like to win a set of Telltale Walking Dead games: Season 1, 400 Days, and Season 2? Three of you lucky dogs can do just that. 144: Favorite Things About TWD + The Returned

Apr 21, 2014 - 01:54:16

Bonjour mes amis! After four seasons we decided it's time we finally do a top five list about our favorite things about The Walking Dead, and thankfully it was really hard to keep it to just five (so I cheated and picked ten). You guys all had some really great ones too, btw. Also, we review the moody, eery French TV show, Les Revenants (The Returned), we announce the winners of the Clementine hat contest, give the latest news, respond to your feedback, and more! Fargo anyone?! One thing I forgot to mention in the show, we'd appreciate it if you would take a minute to answer this demographics survey: http://survey.libsyn.com/deadcast A few things about it:* It'll help us with advertising and it will literally take less than 60 seconds. I bet you could finish it in less than 10, actually.* We're proud to only advertise stuff we genuinely like (so far that's been Audible and Fracture), and we plan to keep it that way. This will hopefully allow us to do more of that.* We see advertising as a way of keeping the podcast free.* It's completely anonymous. There's a space to put in your email address, but you don't have to. That part is optional. If you do, only Karen and I will have access to it and we won't give it to anyone else.* We need at least 250 of you to complete this for it to be effective. So thank you! Also, the baby goat wants you to do it :) Here's the URL again: http://survey.libsyn.com/deadcast Look for us again in a couple of weeks when we do our annual season wrap-up crossover with Chris and Jason of The Talking Dead!  Get The Walking Dead 'Cast for free in iTunes More Links:* Tribute zombie cameos: http://www.fearnet.com/news/list/6-fun-‘walking-dead’-zombie-cameos-you-might-have-missed and http://comicbook.com/blog/2014/03/24/the-walking-dead-bub-from-day-of-the-dead-gets-a-tribute-cameo/* Tutorial from the Podcast Answer Man: http://podcastanswerman.com/learn-how-to-podcast* The Returned Season 1: All 89 Unanswered and Answered Questions: http://seriable.com/the-returned-season-1-unanswered-questions/* What clues are there in The Returned's opening credits: http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/the-returned/26323/what-clues-are-there-in-the-returned%E2%80%99s-opening-credits

125: Scott Wilson (Hershel)

Dec 6, 2013 - 00:26:47

It was a genuine privilege for Karen and I to be able to talk with Scott Wilson after his momentous exit from The Walking Dead last week, and he was as sweet and charming as ever. Listen in as he talks about:* What it was like to film his death scene.* What Hershel would say to Maggie and Beth if he had the chance.* What he'll miss most about TWD and whether he'll keep watching.* What he wants to do next.* And a lot more (including, yes, a lot of gushing from us). Enjoy, and we'll be back later this month to talk Breaking Bad! Thanks to those of you who gave us ideas for interview questions on Facebook (we're at facebook.com/deadcast if you didn't know). We got a few of them in! :) And thanks to everyone who's been rating us and writing reviews in iTunes. I think it helps us get interviews like this one. Haven't left one for us yet? It’s easy and it’s free. Here’s how:1. Find our iTunes page at bit.ly/thedeadcast and then click “View in iTunes” (or just search for us in iTunes).2. In iTunes, click “Subscribe Free.”3. Scroll down and click “Write a Review,” and then leave us an honest rating or review.

124: "Too Far Gone" (S4E8)

Dec 3, 2013 - 01:54:07

Two men important to TWD fell this week in the stunning climax to the half-season. Join us in this extra-long podcast as we go into detail about our thoughts. Lots to talk about re: the comic this week too: In Comic Talk Jaden goes over the many similarities between this ep and the comic, and throws in a few informed predictions. And Gracie Lou and Mr. Blahg go Under the Comic Covers to give you their review of issue #117, released last week. All that and a ton of great email and calls from you guys, many of whom wrote in for the first time. Thanks all, we appreciate each and every one of you. Catch us in a few weeks when our good friend Lissy joins us to review the final eight episodes of Breaking Bad (and rewatch 'em along with us in the meantime). And we'll do a couple more episodes in January and then be back for the second half of TWD S4 in early Feb. Happy holidays everybody. Peace.

123: Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese)

Nov 28, 2013 - 00:26:25

I've been enjoying Chad Coleman's measured portrayal of Tyreese, this multi-faceted character who with his hammer and his wool cap seemed to have burst straight out of the pages of the comic this season, especially once he became activated by Karen's death. It was a pleasure to speak with Chad as he thoughtfully answered everything we wanted to know. Join me and special guest Brittany as we find out things like:* What Tyreese would've done if he had found out Carol killed Karen before she left the prison (his answer might surprise you—it did me).* What it was like to film that crazy scene by the road where Tyreese hammers his way through a massive crowd of zeds.* How Chad sees the relationship between Tyreese and Rick.* What was going on in the S3 finale when Tyreese abruptly left the room seeming like he had a purpose.* How working on TWD compares to his time on the acclaimed HBO show The Wire.* And much more! Hope you enjoy the interview as much as we did! For all our listeners in the U.S., happy Thanksgiving! If you’ve been enjoying what we’ve been doing, we appreciate your reviews (or even just ratings) and subscriptions in iTunes. It’s easy and it’s free. Here’s how:1. 117: Angela Kang

Oct 25, 2013 - 00:31:14

Such a pleasure to talk with Angela Kang, writer of last Sunday's excellently horrific episode, "Infected." She was gracious, open, and lots of fun. Joined by temporary cohost and fantabulous listener Pi'ilani, we asked Angela about a lot of things, including:* How season four is shaping up.* Whether she deliberately strives to write TWD like a classic horror movie.* What's going on with several characters old and new, including Rick, Michonne, Tyreese, Lizzie and Mika.* Whether she would have voted to kill Randall back in season two.* And a lot more. 115: Greg Nicotero

Oct 19, 2013 - 00:31:29

In this bonus episode we're thrilled to be talking with Greg Nicotero, one of the main creative forces behind The Walking Dead, not to mention a legend in makeup and special effects going back decades. We spoke with him about how he and his team dreams up new zombies, whether he ever gets disturbed by the gore, the possibility of Walking Dead on the big screen, his relationship with zombie progenitor George Romero, what it was like working on the set of Evil Dead II (one of our favorites), and much more. Hope you enjoy, and join us in a few days for our regularly scheduled podcast! 112: Season Three Rewatch, Pt 1

Sep 14, 2013 - 01:27:53

TWD S4 is coming up and in preparation, we go back and review the first eight episodes of season three. I was surprised at how much more I got out of the season by binge watching. In particular I think I understand much more clearly what was going on in the Governor's twisted brain. Listen in as I lay it out for you and go over all the bits of foreshadowing and other elements that take on a new significance when viewed as a whole. And have you checked out the guest and events lists for the upcoming Walker Stalker Convention we've been going on about? Here are a few highlights:* Norman Reedus* Lauren Cohan* Greg Nicotero* Giancarlo Esposito (Gus from Breaking Bad)* Sarah Wayne Callies* Laurie Holden* A concert from Emily Kinney* A podcast panel with us, The Walker Stalkers, The Talking Dead, and Watching Dead (and we're working on setting up a meetup with you guys too)* Tons more. Seriously, those are some of the highlights, but there's a lot more going on too. You can find out more and get tickets at walkerstalkercon.com. Karen and I will be hosting many of the Q&A sessions and we would love to see a whole bunch of you out there. And finally, the 9th Annual Podcast Awards is fast approaching. If you want us to win, you can nominate us in the Entertainment and Best Produced categories at podcastawards.com on Oct 1. We appreciate it! Jul 27, 2013 - 01:22:54

All right here it is, the recording of our Walking Dead fan meetup held during Comic Con! I had a blast co-hosting this event with James from The Walker Stalkers (with Eric assisting via Skype and a cameo from Karen). It was great fun talking live with Tyler Chase (Ben), Theodus Crane (Big Tiny), Nick Gomez (Tomas), Daniel Thomas May (Allen), and Travis Love (Shumpert). Most of all, it was super cool that the crowd seemed to have a really good time (as you'll hear), and we hope you enjoy the broadcast too! PS - Big thanks to Mr. Blahg, Gen Jacobs, Jame's son Jaden, and my friends Eric, Cybil, and Danny for helping out at the event. Saved our bacon! PPS - I forgot to say "Don't get bit" at the end. 103: Jay & Jack + The Walker Stalkers

Apr 24, 2013 - 02:18:44

It's been awhile, but we're making up for it with our longest show ever! It's the circle of podcasting as we talk with relative newcomers to the scene, the fabulous James and Eric, a.k.a. The Walker Stalkers, about their experiences meeting the cast of TWD, interacting with the listeners, and planning events. And later at the other end of the gamut, we talk with two of our podcasting idols, Jay and Jack of The Lost Podcast. As we knew it would be, it was a lot of fun and a true honor to talk with Jay and Jack. Without them, our own podcast would almost surely not exist, and we were actually more tongue-tied and giddy talking to them then when we interview the cast of TWD :) All that plus our review of the Evil Dead remake, the latest news, and all your listener moans, groans, and grunts! Rarrr! And don't forget, if you're starting to feel that jones for more Walking Dead, we've still got tickets for our upcoming San Diego event with The Walker Stalkers. Slated to attend are WD prisoners Vincent Ward (Oscar), Nick Gomez (Tomas), and Theodus Crane (Big Tiny). For tickets, go to walkingdeadcast.com/tickets. Apr 2, 2013 - 01:56:38

Here it is, our reaction to the season three finale. As you might imagine, we had mixed feelings, but overall thought it was pretty great. Also, we announce the winner of our Michonne haiku LiveScribe SmartPen contest. Some great haiku from you guys! Some of the best ever :) And stay tuned to the end for a big announcement for the podcast. Also, don't forget to check out our Comic Con event with James and Eric of The Walker Stalkers. We'll have games, prizes, a live podcast, and special guests. The first cast member confirmed to appear is Nick Gomez (Tomas). Get your tickets at walkingdeadcast.com/tickets. Thank you for helping make this a great season of podcast, our favorite yet! Just because The Walking Dead is on hiatus (yes, hi-AY-tis), that doesn't mean we're going anywhere. 101: "This Sorrowful Life" (S3E15) + Dallas Roberts (Milton)

Mar 26, 2013 - 01:36:45

It was great to finally talk with Dallas Roberts, a.k.a. our favorite socially awkward zombie apologist/scientist Milton Mamet. You guys know I've been so impressed with Dallas' line readings, and I was excited to hear his approach to dialog. Plus, learn whether it was Milton who torched the biters in the screamer pit, what Dallas thinks Milton's relationship with the Governor was pre-apocalypse and much more. But first, hear my and Karen's reactions to this week's episode. Maybe a little more disagreement between us than usual. One thing's for sure, we'll miss Michael Rooker and we're stoked for next week's episode. Some great calls and emails from you guys this episode too, and more. Finally, we've got 575 ratings and reviews in iTunes (THANK YOU!) and we're going for 600 before next week's season finale. This season we've brought you over twice the number of interviews that we did last season, and we've been working hard to make the podcast great. Wanna help us get to 600? It's easy and it's free. 100: Andrew Lincoln (Rick) + Celebrations!

Mar 21, 2013 - 01:36:52

Join us for this special 100th episode celebration! We had a blast chatting with our guest of honor, Andrew Lincoln, who talked about why he's an actor, his thoughts on the possibility of Rick losing a hand, whether he keeps up with cast mates who've left the show, and much much more. Tons of other surprises this episode, like the debut of both Nathan Melsted's extended version of our intro song and also our new disgustingly gorgeous Walking Dead 'Cast t-shirts (check 'em out!). We talk with designer Marc Manfre about his inspiration for designing these beautiful babies. And finally, we play your generously congratulatory calls and read a few emails between the two of us from years past. Thank you so much, by the way, for listening. 99: "Prey" (S3E14)

Mar 19, 2013 - 01:34:40

We open this episode with a fun interview with Nick Gomez, a.k.a. everyone's favorite convict with an attitude, Tomas. Nick was great to talk with, and it was fun to hear about his experience being thrown into the thick of things, much like Tomas himself. Then we move on to cover this week's 80's-horror-flickesque episode of TWD, "Prey," one of our favorites yet! We also bring you the latest news about TWD, comic talk, creepy whistling, and lots more. 98: Norman Reedus (Daryl) Interview

Mar 13, 2013 - 00:32:20

In this episode join special guest co-host Gen and I for an incredibly fun and interesting interview with the man himself, Norman Reedus! Our goal was to cover things you haven't heard Norman answer elsewhere. Norman was personable and forthcoming and a pleasure to talk to. Find out what he wants out of life, what inspires him, what it's like for him to play a video game featuring himself, whether he ever thinks about how zombies smell, how he wants Daryl ultimately to go out on the show, and much, much more. P.S. Norman says he'll marry all of you. You're welcome. 95: Laurie Holden (Andrea) Interview

Mar 1, 2013 - 00:23:29

So stoked to bring you this interview with Laurie Holden. It's definitely one of my favorites we've ever done. Laurie was incredibly open and genuine, giving her perspective on people's judgments of Andrea's character, among other things. Find out why Andrea didn't kill the Governor when she had the chance (it's not what you think), how Andrea feels about the way she treated Dale after the CDC, how it was to be apart from the main cast for most of season three, and much more. 87: Charlie Adlard, Plus Silliness

Dec 20, 2012 - 01:28:46

Always enjoyable to speak with Walking Dead illustrator Charlie Adlard. After some pleasant chit chat about Charlie's awesome prog rock band the Cosmic Rays and a sample of their work, we get into the nitty gritty. Find out what it's been like for Charlie to see his drawings come to life on the screen, his perspective on certain horrible, devastating wounds inflicted on characters who shall remain unnamed in this summary (don't worry, we warn you in the 'cast before the spoilers come), his working relationship with Kirkman, and how things have changed (or not) since the TV show.Plus, the top five ways to keep from thinking of TWD over the hiatus, a chat with the Zombie Squad (they make dead things deader), the latest news, and all your moans, groans, and gaks.To vote on which movie we'll be covering next time (Night of the Living Dead (1990 Tom Savini remake) or Return of the Living Dead) go to facebook.com/deadcast and vote!As always, if you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com.

Another great in-depth interview with Walking Dead showrunner Glenn Mazzara this episode. And more!

64: Zed is Fred

May 7, 2012 - 01:02:22

NOTE: Some errors in the original audio file for this episode have been fixed.Eclectic installment this week as we evaluate the first episode of Telltale's just released Walking Dead game, give you all our thoughts on the weird Canadian psychological drama Pontypool, and have a fun talk with Dana Fredsti, sword fighter, sex researcher, and author of recently released Buffy-the-Vampiresque zombie novel, Plague Town. All that and the latest news about our favorite show, and of course, all your listener feedback. As we mention in the show, it'll be a sparse next couple of months from us. We'll be back in late May with our review of German zombie flick, Rammbock, and Dead 'Cast Top 5: The top five props we'd steal from the set of The Walking Dead. After that, we vow to bring you at least one episode per month in June and July, and then go back to bi-weekly in August when the TWD rumors start heating up again. In the meantime if you'd like to leave us a message you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD or email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com.Links:

62: Season Two Wrap-Up Crossover Pt 2

Mar 31, 2012 - 01:14:08

Awesome episode this week, if we do say so ourselves, as we’re joined by special guests Chris and Jason from The Talking Dead podcast to give you our top ten highlights of season two. You can find the first half of our countdown over at talkingdeadpodcast.com, and the final five right here in this episode.
And as an extra-special bonus, I had a fun and illuminating talk with Sean Vanaman, Jake Rodkin, and Harrison Pink, the lead developers of Telltale’s upcoming video game, The Walking Dead. The guys give us the scoop on which characters from the series will appear in the game, when it’ll be released, what the gameplay is like, and more. Telltale makes immersive, story- and character-based games and so we think they’re the perfect studio to do The Walking Dead justice. As always if you'd like to leave us a message you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD or email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com.
